And now for something completely different...

I'm on a bit of a hiatus from Warhammer. I'm going to play some games using Lizardmen but I find myself not very excited about 8th edition.

So, I've been playing a ton of Descent:Journeys in the Dark recently. This is a great board game using miniatures made by Fantasy Flight Games.

I've also decided to order some castle molds from Hirst Arts and I am going to start a new project with my 7 year old son. We are going to cast, build and paint our own chess set. I will then teach him how to play chess. I'm not worried about him catching on because we already play games like Settlers of Catan and Ticket to Ride. He doesn't quite understand the tactics and strategies of those games yet but he understands the rules and the how to play.

I created a rough 3d concept of the board I want to build based on a similar project I found on the Hirst Arts Message Boards.

It was important to me to incorporate the Cavern Floor Mold as I ordered that so I could create Descent dungeons in 3D. I also ordered special casting plaster that is 3x more durable than plaster of paris yet still mixes thin and pours easy into the molds. Everything should arrive next week and we will begin casting.

Cheers,
Domus
