Sweating & Banging

This may not be what you think based on the title. :-)

Felt the weight of my age again this week. Monday night I got a last minute ticket to go see Weezer & the Foo Fighters in Champaign on Tuesday night.

I went.

The show ROCKED! Dave Grohl (sp?) is an incredible performer.

Had a great time, sweated my butt off & danced/head banged like a fool.

Got home @ 2:00 AM. Back up the next day @ 6:45 and back to work ..

Uggghhh

My neck hurt and I have been off-kilter all week from the lack of sleep.

I did get to see Weezer play all of my favorite tunes (Even if They just stood there)
especially "Say it aint So", "Holiday", "Hashpipe"

Foo Fighters Did all of my favs of theirs as well
"Everlong", "This is a Call", "MonkeyWrench", "Best of You"

A very good show & I dont regret going at all.

I just wish I didnt have to ache like an old man for a week because of it.

The Sickness & Children vs. Age

I am sick again, and spent the weekend being sick, which must be like the 10th time this year.

I never used to get sick (Maybe once a year tops!).

So, is my sickness induced by the fact that I have a child in a daycare with lots of other children. Sean is not sick as often as I am, but he could still be bringing the bug home.

Or, is it due to the fact that I am getting older.

Whatever it is, I am soooo ready to be done with this bulls*&%.

Amazing

My 2 year old son is freaking amazing...

He counted to 14 on his own today... He started counting the spoons as I was putting them away. He made it all the way to 14...

I was so proud (AND shocked!!). I knew he counted ( he always counts with Dora), but to count to 14 on his own was just unbelievable...

Can't wait for more of lifes little moments like these!

I reached this number last Saturday. Whoop-ity-doo!

I used to get so excited for my birthdays, now I could care less. My birthday excitement is all spent on my son.

My wife asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, and all I wanted was for our family to enjoy a day at the house. What a great boring day it was. I loved it.

One of the highlights of my birthday was getting a piece of mail from one of my oldest friends. While the images sent in the mail were of no major consequence, the act itself meant the world to me.

Unfortunately, keeping up with this old friend has been very hard to do. He lives about 45 min. away now, and in the hustle-bustle of daily life, that seems like forever.

So, my birthday resolution to myself is for me to work harder to stay in touch with my old friends.

Here's to you Mr. Story!

My Pride & Joy

Without a doubt, Sean is the greatest accomplishment of my lifetime to date.

Nothing can compare to the absolute joy this little boy brings to my life.

Whatever his passions are in life, I hope to fuel those and see them thrive.

I hope my brother and sister fuel his mind and imagination with their creative, abstract energies.

I hope my wife instills in him the great caring and compassion she has for others. He has definitely received her beauty and those eyes.

I feel a deep-seated need to protect him from harm. I worry about protecting him so much that he becomes sheltered, and lives a life not of his choosing.

I can't wait to spend the years watching him grow into a young boy and then a man.

Until then, I will enjoy the moments I can and grab all the "Smooches" that I can.

Serious Folk Need not apply
